Installation New User Or New PC

If you are a new user or this is a new PC,

The steps for both new and existing users are almost the same; the only difference is that for new users, they get prompted for an additional step.

Download the Multi Profile Launcher installation file and save it to your PC.
Open the downloaded installation file
Select the installation option “Only for me (OCI)” and click Install.
Ensure that the Run OCI Multi Profile Launcher is ticked and click Finish
Click Next on the Welcome to OCi MultiProfile Launcher screen.
Click Next on the SAM Starter App screen.
Click Finish on the Windows Permission screen.
Click Install OCI System SAM Starter App.
The launcher will applying the system patches and bring you to the Company Profile Manager page.

Installation Existing User

If you have the OCi SAM system installed previously,

The steps for both new and existing users are almost the same; the only difference is that for new users, they get prompted for an additional step.

Adding Profiles

The profile launcher is meant to allow you to connect to multiple companies (databases).

We call each company a profile.

You normally start with the training database.

The launcher has a guided tour to tell you what the buttons do.

Repeat step 2 to add another company profile.

Migrate Existing Profiles

If you have used the previous launcher, the new launcher will automatically attempt to migrate the detected profiles.

The launcher will appear message “Found ( ) existing profile folder(s) not in database and Linked names found in folder!”
A migration message guide will appear: “The Launcher has found your previous profiles and profile names automatically, Just click Migrate to bring them in” . Click Next.
A Skip & Clear Old Profiles message guide will appear: “If you click Skip and Clear, the old profiles will be deleted. Note: this only clears the old/previous connection and does not impact data.” Click Next.
Click Next to add the profile.
Click Finish to save the profile.
Ensure that there is a message "Linked names found in folder!. Click Migrate to bring in your previous company profile name
Click Launch, and you will be directed to the OCI SAM system.

Migrate Existing Profiles but cannot auto find

If the previous launcher was put in another location, you can manually tell the launcher where to look.

The file to look for is called "software.json"

The launcher will appear the message " Found () existing profile folder(s) that are not in database and shows “No naming file found. Using default name”.
Click “Search for old Profiles (software.json)”.
You will be redirected to a page where you can locate the software.json file. Select the file and click Open.
The launcher will display “Linked names found in folder!”
Click Migrate to bring in your previous company profile name.
Click Launch, and you will be directed to the OCI SAM system.

Migrate Using Defaut Names

If you do not know where the previous folder is, you can just migrate using the default names.

After logging in, you know which company that profile is for, and you can rename it to the correct name.

Alternatively, you can clear the old profiles to create new profiles.

The launcher will appear the message: “ Found () existing profile folder(s) not in database" and "No naming found . Using default names".
A migration message guide "The Launcher has found previous profiles without profile name . Click Migrate to use these profiles" will appear. Click Next.
The launcher will pop up a message guide " Find previous Profiles: The Launcher was unable to find previous profiles name. If you know the folder location of the previous Launcher you can select it otherwise you can still use the migrate button. The launcher will use default names. You can rename the profile later". Click Next.
A Skip & Clear old profile message guide "If you click Skip and Clear, the old profiles will be deleted. Note this only clears the old/previous connection away. it does not impact data at all. Click Next.
Click Next to Add profile
Click Finish to save the profile
If you do not know where is the previous launcher folder is , click Migrate and the default company profile name “Migrated Profile XX” will appear.
Click Launch, and you will be directed to the OCI SAM system.
Log in with your user ID and password.
Go to Setup → Company Details → Company to verify the company name.
Go back to the launcher and click Rename to rename the company profile.
