Customized document layout will  come in a dot XML extension file.

Click  Maintenance -> Updates -> Document Settings Import

Select  the location where the layout is.

then click on 'Get Document'

a list of the customized layouts will appear.

Click on 'Update'

wait for the generation to complete.

the new layout is in your system.
