Weird character being displayed when exporting to CSV.

If you have non english text (eg, chinese characters) in the data when you export to excel.

the unicode characters will lose their formatting when you export to excel.

you'll need to tell Execl to format the CSV for you.

select unicode as the character type, you can check the preview screen to check if your selection is correct.

once verified you can click on next.

tick comma, and review the preview screen.

you can click 'Finish' after this.

if you click next, you will be prompted to specify the type for each column.

after clicking finish you will see this screen.

select 'new worksheet' 

click ok

do not forget to use the 'save as' to save the converted excel file.
